Books the rest of your numbers can stand on.
Every report, forecast, and board pack sits on top of the books. So we keep them ourselves. Not as a cheap way in. Because it’s the only way we can promise the numbers above them are true.
Software does the sorting. A person does the judging.
Every month, on a fixed date.
Books close on the 10th. Your summary lands on the 12th.
- Every transaction sorted; bank, card and loan accounts reconciled
- Bills and invoices kept current, not caught up quarterly
- A monthly close on a fixed date, with a checklist
- Documents filed where an auditor or a buyer can find them
- A plain one-page summary each month
- Tax prep or filing — your CPA
- Audit, review, attestation — a licensed CPA firm
- Payroll filing — your payroll provider
- Anything needing a CPA license
We are not a CPA firm. Your accountant still files your return. They’ll just have a much easier year doing it.
What owners ask us
Do you replace our bookkeeper?
Usually, yes. That’s the simplest setup and the one where we can stand behind the numbers. If yours is doing good work, we’ll work alongside them. We just won’t build reports on records we haven’t checked.
Is this AI bookkeeping?
Software does the sorting and matching. A person who knows your business reviews it before the month closes. That review is the part you’re paying for.
What does it cost?
It depends on how many transactions, accounts and entities you have, and what shape the records are in. We quote a fixed monthly fee before any work starts. We never bill by the hour. Cleanup, if needed, is quoted separately.
Our books are a mess. Is that a problem?
It’s the normal starting point. We’ll tell you what shape they’re in, what it takes to fix, and what that costs, before you commit to anything.
Do you do our taxes?
No. We are not a CPA firm. Your CPA does tax, audit and attestation. We hand them clean, reconciled records.
